Surrey Championship and Sunday friendlies
Saturday cricket is dominated by our five teams in the Surrey Championship, all playing at various levels of competitive league cricket. Whether home or away all the teams meet up back at Beddo to celebrate or commiserate together. We're proud of being a club that cares about the achievements across the sides.
Contact our Cricket Manager, Michael Lewis, if you want to play on a Saturday.
Sunday is the time for social, friendly cricket to take over. We usually field two Sunday teams and, dependent on fixtures, an U19s development team as well. Ably managed (but definitely not skippered) by our Fixtures Secretary, and all round cricket badger, Joe Anson. Let him know if you want to come and play a relaxed and friendly game of cricket.
Thursday nights during the season is club nets night. A chance to come down and fine tune your game, get some bowling in and check on the state of the grounds before the weekend. We have three outdoor nets and lots of space for those vital, and oft neglected, fielding drills. They're a great way to get to know people at the club as well. So if you're new, or just old and forgetful, come down from 6.30pm until 8pm or whenever we run out of light)
In recent seasons, the Surrey slam has presented a new way to get back in touch with cricket. A T20 competition played midweek designed to avoid teams stacked full of the best club players and encourage former players back into the game. Our Cricket Manager, Michael Lewis, is again the main point of contact for this.
We haven't managed to win this one, yet, so we'll just have to use an image from when the world cup came to visit.
Whatever brand of cricket you want to play, we're confident we have a place in our club for you. Whether a seasoned 1st XI player or hardened beer match afficianado, we'd welcome the opportunity to show you how much we all love this great game.
