Gallery 7: Cricket Week 2008 (7th to 11th July 2008)

Unfortunately we were not blessed with the best weather during Cricket Week this year. There was however plenty going on at the club through the week...and even the odd bit of cricket. As you can see from some of the photos below, as the rain fell, there was often little else to do other than make use of the bar facilities! For a full report of the weeks, including reports on both the cricket and events, please click here.

Thanks to Jayne for the photos:

Gallery 6: Dinner & Dance, Woodcote Park Golf Club (7th March 2008)

For the first time in memory, Beddington held a Dinner & Dance at Woodcote Park Golf Club. The evening was lovely and a good time was had by all while also raising valuable funds for the club. Thanks to Tony and Shiela Cummins for all their work organising the event, to the staff at Woodcote Park and finally to Second Nature for their excellent music.

 Gallery 5: Christmas Luncheon 2007 (19th December 2007)

Although the venue changed to the Racehorse Pub in Carshalton this year, Beddington members still showed up in force (even John Broad put in an appearance) to catch up during the off season and enjoy some festive cheer.

Cricket Week 2007 was once again a highly amusing week of cricket, drinking and merry making. Darren Cuff did a fantastic job of organising the week and will need lots of volunteers to help organising cricket week 2008.

Gallery 2: Beddington CC vs M.C.C. (24th May 2007)

 MCC Logo

On Tuesday 24th May, Beddington played host to an M.C.C. XI. Everyone involved enjoyed a lovely day with fine weather in May, with every aspect of the day proving a success.

Several comments were made by the visitors about the improvements made to the clubhouse since they last visited 2 years ago, and the grounds looked lovely in the sunshine. Positive comments were also received in regards to the lunches and teas which were as good as ever, so thanks to Bernie and her team!

Unfortunately, Beddington lost the game in the end. The M.C.C. batted first, as is customary, and their batsmen were rarely troubled on a fairly placid pitch and declared on 233 for 4 after exactly 50 overs. Due to the hot weather, and the lunch and tea breaks, the game turned into a fair game, with Beddington receiving almost 50 overs back. Unfortunately, a number of loose shots through the innings cost us dear and we were bowled out for 196 with 3 overs left.

A great day nonetheless!
