Under 16's in JC Cup FINAL! (July 27, 2009)
On Tuesday 14th July Beddington U16's played the semi final of the NEC section of The Dennis Jacobs cup.

Having won the toss and elected to bat the early loss of Josh Peck for 2 brought Michael Ridley to the crease and with Sujit Dadar they took the score to 87 when Dadar was out for 42. In came Matthew Winter who along with Ridley took the score to 148 at the end of 20 overs. Michael Ridley finished on 58 not out and Matthew Winter on 31 not out.

The Spencer innings got off to a good start until Coles had Lampier caught by Winters for 5 with the score on 28. With the score on 49 Sumners caught Asif off Coles. With the run rate creeping up a couple of wickets from Niaz pushed the rate up. With the score on 94 a stumping from Sam Owen off Ridley and a catch by Ridley off Anthony Green put them further behind. At the end Spencer were left on 116 for 8.

Bowling:

Hall 0 for 17
Coles 2 for 28
Niaz 2 for 9
Sumners 1 for 21
Ridley 1 for 20
Green 1 for 6
Hamsir 0 for 7

Please come along to support the lads in the Final which is away to Old Whits on Monday 27th July in Croham Manor Road, South Croydon.

P.S. Apologies for the late publication of this story and details of the final, but the webmaster was busy organising Cricket Week and was then enjoying a well earned break!
