(July 18, 2008) ![]() 'Cricket for Change' are a charity who are using cricket as a vehicle to do good, providing cricketing opportunities to young people living on housing estates, and young people with a disability. They believe that cricket can be used to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals and communities and for the last 25 years they have used their unique programmes to help young people, in particular, make positive choices about their lives and to help them feel good about themselves.
On Wednesday 20th August 2008 'Cricket for Change' host the world famous Lashings World XI at their Plough Lane ground. The aim is to help raise money for local disability groups and help prolong and continue the good work 'Cricket for Change' have done over the past 25 years.
Beddington's Danny Baker works for the charity as a Community Cricket Coach and has the honour of captaining the side to face Lashings. As such, there may be more than one Beddington player on show!
Tables of 10 are being sold for £495 and the event would make a great corporate event, or even a chance for you and some friends to enjoy good food, good cricket and rub shoulders with some of the best cricketers from around the world.
