Managers Comment:

The U13s, including five U12s playing up a year, scored a comprehensive victory against Old Ruts and put themselves four points clear at the top of table at the season's half-way point. Seb Chmielinski called right and chose to bat. Sam Bartram and Mark Kingston gave Beddo a fine start, rattling up a quarter century partnership in just four overs before Mark was out. But the wicket only bought Seb to the middle, which meant more punishment for the Old Ruts bowlers as he raced to 32 not out when he had to retire. The middle order all had a swish as Beddington knocked up 117 for 3 off their 20 overs. Old Ruts were in trouble from the start as Seb took two wickets in the first over and they soon subsided to 13 for 8 before staging something of a revival to reach 37 all out. Seb finished on 4 for 3 off 4 overs, and Harry Parker was a model of accuracy, conceding just one run off his four overs and taking one wicket. Four games to go, and the aim must be to finish the league season unbeaten.

Thanks,
Graham
